The most room, the most time
Contractors book the 40 yard for demolition and construction. Homeowners book it for the biggest jobs a house can have: a full gut renovation or clearing an entire property.
Five days changes how you can work. A crew can load as the job moves forward, so the debris never has to pile up on site first.
Jobs it suits
- Demolition of a structure or a full interior gut
- Framing, drywall and packaging from new construction
- A renovation that touches every room
- Hoarder cleanouts and full-property cleanups
- Warehouse and commercial cleanouts
Before you book the 40
- It needs the most space to deliver. Tell us about the site, including gates, slopes, soft ground and overhead lines.
- The walls are tall, so plan how the debris will get in. Ask us about the best way to load it when you call.
- Have it delivered the day the tear-out starts so all 5 days go toward the job.
- Four tons is 8,000 pounds. Tell us if you expect a lot of plaster or tile so we can talk about the weight.
When to pick a different size
- Dirt, rock or concrete: those go in the 10 yard lowboy, which is built for heavy material
- Roofing or manure: those are limited to the 15 yard
- A job you will finish in a weekend: the 30 yard may be enough
- A tight residential driveway: ask us before you plan around this size
No dumpster takes chemicals and other hazardous materials, batteries, tires or appliances. For appliances, call Temecula Valley Junk Pick-Up at 951-291-1700.
One size down, one size up
Smaller: 30 yard
The 30 yard includes 2 days and 2 tons. It suits a large job that will be loaded quickly.
Questions about the 40 yard
How big is a 40 yard dumpster?
It holds 40 cubic yards, twice the volume of the 20 yard and the most of any size we rent.
Can a 40 yard go at a house?
Sometimes. It needs more room than any other size, so tell us about the driveway or the lot and we will say whether it fits or whether a 30 yard is the safer choice.
Can I put concrete or dirt in a 40 yard?
Dirt, rock and concrete go in the 10 yard lowboy, which is built for heavy material. Many jobs use both: a lowboy for the concrete and a 40 yard for everything else.
How long do I get it?
5 days are included. If your schedule runs longer, tell us when you book.
